Background

Impellam is an umbrella company with 18 recruitment agencies in various sectors. With over 3,200 staffing experts, the HR system plays an important role in their daily work life. Employees can access their documents, communicate with each other, book holidays, keep up to date with company news and events as well as access to training materials.

The challenge

The task was to design a new logo for the HR portal. The old brand was dull and dated, the company wanted the logo to be more fresh, playful but still professional and represent company culture, it should tie up with the new brand. The logo would be used on the online platform and any related collateral.

The new brand is bold and colourful. The colours in the company logo represent each unique recruitment agency and together they make the Impellam brand. I wanted the logo to represent people that make each brand and equally the whole company. I thought that using the colours would be one way of representing it as well as creating a bespoke type.

The solution

For this logo, I have selected 3 colours from the new brand guidelines. Mint green represents fresh characteristics, pink symbolises passion and energy and yellow, optimism and intelligent.

Use of pastel colours makes the logo look harmonious and trustworthy to associate with the HR department. The logo will be used on digital and printed materials so it has to be flexible.
